This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
HealthSource of Ohio partners with The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania to host physicians for their 3-year family medicine residency program at HealthSource’s Hillsboro Pediatrics & Family Practice clinic. This is also in partnership with the Highland District Hospital where they see patients in the hospital and emergency room.
The Wright Center is the largest Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education consortium in the country. They offer comprehensive, community-focused residency programs across the United States to grant physician leaders the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with diverse populations. Completion of the residency allows the physicians to sit for their board certification exam in both family medicine and lifestyle medicine.
