I became a dentist to help my patients understand their oral health. My grandfather died from bacterial endocarditis in a replaced aortic valve that resulted in a massive heart attack. This issue stemmed from a periodontal infection that infiltrated that valve. I want to educate my patients on the importance of their oral health and how it impacts their overall health. I look at the patient as a whole individual for health management, as well. I treat the patient in their entirety and try to encourage healthy habits, visits to their primary care, or following through with the proper specialists.
