Accessible Health Care for All Children

School-based health centers provide health care to students with parental permission, as well as faculty and community members, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. HealthSource has seven School-Based Health Centers – Goshen, Felicity, Williamsburg, Western Brown, Blanchester, Bright Local, and Southern Hills Career Center. All our School-Based Health Centers are open to the entire community, with the exception of Western Brown and Southern Hills.

Keeping Children in School and Parents at Work

School-Based Health Centers keep students in school and ready to learn, treat acute and chronic health problems immediately and return students to class as soon as possible. With a School-Based Health Center, parents miss less work. The center can see students and staff members conveniently and easily during the school day.

School Based Health Services Include:

Routine physical exams, including wellness checks, sports, and work physicals
Asthma and other chronic illness diagnosis and management
Acute illness and injury treatment
Immunizations and vaccinations
Routine lab tests
Medication prescriptions
Health education, counseling, and wellness promotion
Fitness and nutrition education and counseling
Case management for acute and chronic health problems
Vision screenings
Complete eye exams

Dental Services
Mobile Dental Services

How Will This Benefit My Child?

A School-Based health Center can serve different purposes for different students. Medical services include immunizations, sports/work/annual physicals, asthma or other chronic to disease management as well as acute care for sick or injured students. The School-Based Health Center also provides work physicals to all staff.

This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
