About Philanthropy

At HealthSource of Ohio we believe quality patient care is “More than Medicine.” We are committed to addressing the underlying causes of health disparities and drastically improving the health and well-being of our patients and communities.

Inspired by the generosity of our staff, who would often use their own money to help our patients afford prescriptions, healthy food, transportation, and other necessities, philanthropy at HealthSource was formalized in 2013 to ensure the care for our patients and community goes beyond the four walls of our health centers while also providing quality care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.

By donating to the HealthSource of Ohio you are committing your support to the 90,000+ patients we serve annually through our Primary Care, Dental, Vision, Pediatric, Behavioral Health and OB/GYN practices as well as through additional programing such as:

Hunger as a Health Issue

Hunger as a Health Issue

Lacking access to nutritious food is a dire public health concern for many of the patients and communities we serve. HSO’s Hunger as a Health Issue program provides patients with immediate access to tailored recipes and ingredients, offers nutrition education and hands-on cooking demonstrations, delivers seasonally fresh produce to our medical offices, provides farmers market vouchers, and refers patients to community resources that address hunger and other social determinants of health.

Open a Book to Open a Door Literacy Program

Open a Book to Open a Door Literacy Program

Open a book to Open a Door is our way to support early literacy. We believe that by providing a book for all children that walk through our doors, we will increase ways to a brighter future by helping each child begin to grow their own knowledge library.

Health and Hope Fund

The Health and Hope Fund Provides additional resources to patients via staff giving to help eliminate the barriers to receiving care. Whether that helps to cover the cost of their prescription for the month, providing a gas card so transportation isn’t an issue, or purchasing glasses for a child struggling to see the board at school. The Health and Hope Fund is here to ensure care is accessible and allows staff to proactively identify and deliver personalized care services that help solve those challenges or issues that our patients may face in their daily lives.
