HSO Eastgate Dental is Amazing!

” I’d like to thank Stephanie Lacy, Kaylee Gibbs, Laura Eldridge, Hannah Wright, and Dr. Miguel Martinez from the HSO Eastgate Dental Team.
A patient (and HSO employee) always had a fear of the dentist due to a bad experience years ago getting a root canal, typically needing anti-anxiety meds or someone holding her hand during dental appointments. Because of this she just stopped going to the dentist at all. Luckily for her, she became an employee of HSO and was able to talk with some of her co-workers about her dental fears. She then decided that she just needed to schedule the appointment, so she spoke with a call center agent who then referred her to Stephanie Lacy, Assistant Dental Practice Manager to help with scheduling.
“Stephanie was amazing. I reached out to her to get a better understanding of what the process was in regards to scheduling an appointment as a new patient to dental. She answered all my questions and was so compassionate as I felt very anxious in just making this appointment. For my first visit at Eastgate Dental, from the time I walked in and was greeted by Kaylee and saw Laura and Dr. Martinez, everyone was so kind and when I asked about my previous dental care, no one made me feel ashamed for being scared. I’ve since had a cleaning with Hannah and although I was nervous and expected the worst (like previous experiences), Hannah made me feel comfortable and helped me forget how nervous I was. She answered all my questions simply and was able to connect on a personal level as well. I’ve never felt so comfortable without medication or a hand to hold. Hannah was amazing, I hope she is there at my next appointment. I am so thankful for your wonderful staff. I am happy to be a dental patient at HSO!” Jessica Barrick, HSO Employee

HSO Announces New School Based Health Center

HealthSource of Ohio and Goshen Local School District are excited to announce a new partnership to provide expanded quality health care to the community, students, and school staff. Planning is underway and the health center will be housed inside Marr/Cook Elementary School, with a separate secured entrance for the public.

“HealthSource of Ohio is excited to expand to this location in Goshen and partner with Goshen Local School District, beyond providing mobile dental care. With this expansion in the community, care will still be provided at HealthSource Loveland, located on Charles Snider Road,” stated Kim Patton, President and CEO.

The advantage of having a school-based health center is that students can be seen by the clinician the same day. They don’t miss as much class time and parents don’t need to leave work to take their child to the doctor. Parents/guardians will need to complete a permission packet to be seen at the school-based health center.

The goal is for the health center to be open this Fall and will not replace a child’s primary care physician if care is already established. HealthSource of Ohio will work in conjunction with the existing clinician.

Darrell Edwards, Goshen Local School District, Superintendent stated, “We are pleased to partner with HealthSource to bring easier access to convenient health care to our students and families.  For students to learn, they must be healthy.  Having a school-based health care center allows parents to quickly have their child evaluated by a health professional without having to take off work.  We have partnered with HealthSource in the past with their mobile dental clinic and our families appreciated the care they received.  Our hope is to improve the overall health of our students, improve attendance, and increase academic achievement”.

HealthSource of Ohio accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offers a discounted sliding fee for uninsured or under-insured patients. HealthSource Goshen will be accepting new patients and permission forms for students will be sent out soon.
